The project
Charter House in Cambridge underwent a full refurbishment by Bury St Edmunds building contractor H G Frost, who appointed Suffolk Contract Flooring to complete the flooring works.
With porcelain tiles removed during the refurbishment, the subfloors had varying heights that needed to be built up before the new flooring could be fitted. We prepared the floors using ARDEX K 40 smoothing compound, then installed the client’s chosen carpet tiles and barrier matting at the main entrance.

The result
The flooring works completed an important part of Charter House’s refurbishment. ARDEX K 40 provided a prepared base across areas with varying floor heights, while the Lattice carpet tiles gave the space a neutral finish that can be adapted by its next tenants. Heckmondwike barrier matting provided a practical finish at the main entrance.
